Shopping Scholar
I wish these two words went together! I must get my act together and start my research for the day. What’s stopping me? My love/obsession with Etsy!
First, a new favorite Etsian (and a fellow PhD’er — I wish I knew how to do both!): “Up Up Creative” — I love her simple, modern, and elegant work. It is just so soothing to look at!
I’m working on a 2nd treasury! Below are some fun items that I found while searching :). I’ll post a link when I actually create the Treasury on Etsy — no 3 am Treasury postings again!!

What an amazing to-be treasury. Cant wait to see this on Etsy! Make sure to post back a link once you submit it :)
thanks so much for your kind words about my shop and my stuff. i wish i could say that i have figured out the whole balance thing… etsy, school, being a mom, etc., but unfortunately, i have not. i actually only started the etsy thing recently when i was hit hard by postpartum depression and made the really-hard-yet-surprisingly-easy decision to put the dissertation away for a while, maybe forever. the moment i took my candidacy exam i started having major second thoughts about the whole thing and my dissatisfaction (and, mostly, my lack of desire to enter academia permanently as an english prof) grew and grew and then i had a kid and my life exploded! but in a good way. because look at the cool stuff i get to make now. and then people say nice things about it on their blogs and in emails to me. and i like that.

It seems like you have so much more figured out that you even realize. You have done so much in such a short period of time. It’s incredible. How many people are able to step back and evaluate the situation like you did and then actually DO something about it?? Not many! And not only did you do something about it — you created something you love. That’s amazing, Julie!
