Tuesday Treasures: Begin.

March 9th, 2010 | 6 Comments »

“Tuesday Treasures” is a weekly series. Each Tuesday, I highlight information and inspiration related to a specific topic. This week’s focus: BEGIN.

: : begin : :

… to create from a blank canvas
… to experience
… to take the first step
… to take bold action (“gulp!”)
… to start
… to let go
… to trust yourself

There is beauty in being a beginner.

Fresh

  • New video is live on Spring! During the month of March, we are talking about one hot topic: MONEY! The first video (of four) is focused on this question: How do you trust that you can do what you love and the money will follow? And of course, new video = new giveaway. Spend a few minutes relaxing today with Spring – a video conversation with four unique perspectives!

Inspiring Words

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off your bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor, catch the trade winds in your sail. Explore. Dream. Discover.”

- Mark Twain

Give yourself permission to forge beyond the resistance and BEGIN. Today.

Tuesday Treasures: What do you treasure?

February 16th, 2010 | 4 Comments »

Bad things do happen; how I respond to them defines my character and the quality of my life. I can choose to sit in perpetual sadness, immobilized by the gravity of my loss, or I can choose to rise from the pain and treasure the most precious gift I have – life itself. -Walter Anderson

Typically, I share a few snippets of information and inspiration (little treasures) with you; however, this week, it’s time to turn the tables and begin to think about treasures on a more personal level. And that includes me!

This is an invitation for you to intentionally explore the positive aspects of your life.

::  treasure ::
A compendium of words associated with “treasure” (found through various resources – dictionary, thesaurus, online exploration).

:: a personal treasure hunt ::

“As humans we look at things and think about what we’ve looked at. We treasure it in a kind of private art gallery.” -Thom Gunn

–> What does “treasure” mean to you?

“Happiness is your own treasure because it lies within you.” -Prem Rawat

–> What do you treasure?

Take Action: This week, focus on the good – filter the negative. Create a list of what you treasure in your life (the little things and/or the big things). Really practice attending to what’s most important to you.

It’s a personal treasure hunt – and you are creating your own map!

I’ll be playing along as well and would love to share thoughts in the comments below.

Let the hunt begin!

Inspiring Words

“In the crush of a hectic day, it’s easy to lose sight of your most basic needs : whole food, fresh air, sound sleep, love. Easy to get caught up in the complexity of life, in the expectations and obligations crowding you in. The path back to serene simplicity doesn’t require razing your schedule to the ground. Rather, it calls for a certain quality of attention (the closer look, the longer pause) and a willingness to look for and appreciate pure sweetness wherever you find it.”

-Terri Trespicio (from Body + Soul Magazine, Nov 2009)

“Tuesday Treasures” is a weekly series. It is such a fun uplifting title that I can’t resist using it! I have a few treasures to share with you today. I hope they add a little sparkle to your day and week!

New & Exciting

  • Spring’s February video is up. The topic is: SUPPORT! This month, we’re excited to share a new video each Tuesday on this topic. Be sure to check it out and post a comment for a chance to win one of the fabulous giveaways!

Online Treasures

  • A Few Lovely Blogs
  • I Believe in Love – a beautiful new book available for pre-order by Marisa Haedike of Creative Thursday
  • Bell’occhio – one of my favorite stores filled with unique treasures for Valentine’s Day
  • Checkster – a free online tool that helps you assess your talents with the help of friends (description below quoted from “What Color is Your Parachute?“)
    • You submit the names of six people who know you and your work well…. Checkster sends them a request, on your behalf, to fill out a short questionnaire about you (five to seven minutes) and submit it back to Checkster within a mandatory seven-day time period. Their names are then separated from their feedback, and an anonymous summary report is given to you summarizing what all these friends and acquaintances together perceive are your strengths and your uniqueness. Only you ever get this free report, and you can use it or discard it, as you wish. Use it to see what these people think is unique about you. Discard it if you think they’re way off base. Choose six other people, and do it again.
    • I’m up for the challenge – are you?
