Just a little something to make you smile :).

PS I’m back from a fabulous one-year anniversary trip to London and Paris. I can’t wait to share some fun memories with you soon. I’ve been battling a nasty cold for the past few days, but hope to be back to my “normal” self soon!

Food For Thought: Holiday Hot Topics

November 17th, 2010 | 6 Comments »

Food for Thought is a regular column on A Beautiful Ripple Effect! It is written by nutrition + inspiration guru extraordinaire Whitney Ahneman. The column is published twice a month! Check out Whitney’s introduction video about the series in this post!

In honor of the upcoming holidays, Whitney recorded a fabulous video for us about some of the holiday “hot topics!” (think: ugh oh holiday weight gain and overindulgence – what do I do?) and other fun pieces of wisdom for this special, yet often challenging, time of year!

Note: If you prefer to read the video content, you can download this PDF for the fully transcribed version!

Do you have any favorite holiday advice re: eating healthfully? Do you have a favorite recipe that you would like to share (or maybe a resource)? And of course, please post any questions as well!

Introducing Food For Thought with Whitney Ahneman!

June 21st, 2010 | 19 Comments »

I am thrilled to introduce a brand new series for you, my incredible readers: Food For Thought with Whitney Ahneman. Whitney and I have been working together for over three years. She has been reading this blog since day one — often sneaking a peek of my posts when they are just raw thoughts in my journal. On a more personal level, Whitney has helped me realize the important link between nutrition and general wellbeing. She just completed her master’s degree at Boston University and is currently in her Dietetic Internship at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Boston. She writes about everything nutrition on her blog, Witty Nutrition.

Food For Thought will be focused on providing a much more holistic perspective of nutrition, with lots of fun tips and inspiration. If you are anything like I was before meeting Whitney and cringe when you hear the word “nutrition,” prepare to fall in love with Whitney’s unique approach to the topic – I certainly have!

The series will be posted twice a month. To introduce Food for Thought, Whitney has recorded a short video for you. Please note that the volume is a bit low on the video so make sure your speakers are turned all the way up and your ears are wide open :)!

A Beautiful Ripple Effect’s First Video!

After one year of blogging, I decided it was time to post a video! I hope you enjoy my thoughts on 2009 and my goals for 2010! I resisted doing a second take so you could see the “real” me — rambling, mistakes, and lots more :)!

Perseverance: Book Video Trailer!

August 19th, 2009 | 16 Comments »

I am so excited to share this book video trailer with you for PERSEVERANCE! I hope you enjoy learning a little bit more about the book and my personal background. There is a part two that I will be posting next week.

I’m also excited to share exciting news on here with my incredible supporters. I’ve been a little hesitant to share the news because I don’t want to jinx it in anyway, but a few people have heard through other online sources so I thought I should say something so no one thinks I’m hiding anything :).

I am so grateful for this opportunity and am literally smiling from ear to ear as I write this post. This opportunity will help me to use my voice to spread the message of Perseverance to a very large audience. And I’m so grateful that I may not stop typing if I don’t just say it already! Okay, deep breath…. In a little over a week, on Monday August 31st, I will be appearing live on the Today Show to discuss PERSEVERANCE. I promise to include more details as the date gets closer. To say I am excited and thrilled would be an understatement, so I’ll let this book video trailer give you a little sneak peek into the Journey of Perseverance and why it means so much to me!

Again, thank you so much for your support throughout this entire journey. It is truly incredible to be surrounded by such amazing people. Thank You!

This video was filmed and produced by Lauren Saffa. She is so unbelievably talented and sweet. Such a joy to film this video with – thank you, Lauren!

I’m excited for a wonderful, busy week! I am almost done with my Monday Inspiration post, but technically it will be posted on Tuesday [Update: Crazy week but will be posting soon]!

We have one giveaway day remaining — the finale! And I still have a wonderful announcement to come.

I get to see my friend Josh this week — so exciting! He just arrived in Boston from North Carolina. One conversation with him leaves me inspired for at least a full month!

And today I got to talk to Maria Stephanos on Boston’s Fox News about young adult cancer survivors and college scholarships. I had never been to their studio. Wow! It is gorgeous. And the people are so kind and gracious. A big thank you to Melanie Nye, the segment producer, and all around wonderful person! It was a remarkable experience. I can’t wait to (hopefully) visit again.

I hope you had a wonderful Monday!

Wishing you a beautiful week,

Carolyn
